Sushi

We made sushi at home for the first time!! I read the directions wrong for the Norri and thought we were suppose to soak them but apparently you're not suppose to because they were all stuck together and almost disintegrated. But Ari pulled them apart and we dried them a little and they worked ok. It was really fun.

We made a California Roll regular and Tempura. And a shrimp and cucumber regular and Tempura. They were really good. Christian even liked it!

2 binkies and a camera

So, yesterday I was getting Christian lunch and he had 2 binkies. He loves them and will keep as many as he can find. I've seen him with a binkie in his mouth and one in each hand. Anyway, he has 2 and he puts them both in his mouth and just cracks up. It was so cute and I thought, I wish I had my camera!! I decided since I'd been looking for almost 3 wks for it, it must be long gone and I would have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. I wrote it on my list and then decided to say a prayer. And I just asked Heavenly Father that if the camera was here would He please help me figure out where. After the prayer I thought I should look under the bed. I ran upstairs and checked...nothing. Then the doorbell rang and it was a guy trying to help us stop renting and own a home. I took his paper and I had the thought to check under the bed and behind my centrifuge and its box. I went back up pulled out the centrifuge, moved its box out and guess what > it was right there. What an amazing faith builder.

This made me think of a Hilary Weeks fireside I attended in Nov or Dec. She told an experience about the dress on the cover of her 2009 Christmas album. She said she was trying to get this dress but off the rack it was not modest enough so the women at the store was trying to alter the dress for her. When the alteration was done she went back to the store the dress was still not modest enough. The seamstress in the store told her she used all the extra fabric and that was the best she could do. Hilary Weeks then told how she was upset but decided not to compromise and would not wear the dress. She went home and prayed to Heavenly Father that if there was anyway the seamstress could fix the dress to please help her figure it out because she would really like to wear it for the photo shoot. The next day she got a call and the women at the store had had an idea about the dress and altered it again. She went back to the store, tried it on and it was perfect.

She said that she believes that things that are important to us are important to Heavenly Father. Even if they seem petty and stupid like the dress ...or my camera. I believe that too.

Here are a couple pictures of my family. I lost my camera after Christmas so I don't have any family photos to post except this one from Halloween and I had to show cute Christian in his vest and tie.

Lets try again!!

Ok, so my sister in law Jayci tried to get me to blog like 2 years ago and it never worked out. I'm trying it again. Wish me luck!!!
